ABOUT FUELRE4M

Why Fuelre4m exists.

Fuelre4m exists because standards-compliant fuel can still behave very differently in service—and because accepting that difference as unavoidable wastes fuel, work and opportunity.

WHY COMBUSTION?

A problem-solving journey that started long before fuel.

I did not set out to spend my life working on combustion. My career began with very little formal education, but I was fortunate to be taught engineering logic by a mentor on the UK railway: know the starting point, define the problem, take the helicopter view, move halfway, look back, then look towards the problem and decide which direction the evidence points. Repeat until the answer becomes clear.

That way of thinking stayed with me. I also took almost everything apart—televisions, computers, lawnmowers and anything else I could get my hands into. The habit was always the same: understand the system, find the constraint, design a practical fix and test what happens. The difficult part was rarely the engineering. It was persuading people to look closely enough at a problem they had already learned to accept.

Before Fuelre4m, I designed a hybrid managed-power solution by combining existing technologies differently. The result was not a new battery, solar panel or engine. It was a new operating logic that matched each component to the work it performed best. That reduced total cost of ownership and capital cost by 64%. The next question was obvious: could the generator itself be made more efficient?

That question brought Re4mx into our lives. What followed was years of trials, data, objections and unexpected results. Each time someone said “snake oil”, “it is the averages”, or “it is the weather”, the response was not to dismiss the objection. It was to test it. Again and again, the fuel itself emerged as one of the largest variables in the system—even though it was usually treated as a constant.

The moment I thought we had found something was not a dramatic breakthrough. It was a pattern that did not fit the accepted explanation. Results did not match the picture in my head. Torque changed when it was not supposed to. Vessel advance changed where the conventional story said only weather could explain it. Those contradictions became questions, and the questions became an engineering programme.

Fuelre4m now exists to move the discussion beyond minimum compliance and average consumption. We want to understand how fuel behaves before combustion, how consistently energy is released, how that becomes pressure and torque, and how much useful work finally reaches a propeller, wheel, alternator or industrial process.

The world is investing heavily in future fuels, and it should. But replacing one fuel without first understanding and optimising combustion risks repeating the same mistakes with a new label. We believe the quickest practical opportunity is to improve what is already being used while building better measurement for what comes next.

Mission

Improve the useful work delivered by every litre of fuel.

Measure performance against the work created—not consumption in isolation.

Vision

Make combustion quality a standard performance measure.

Move fuel assessment from minimum compliance and potential energy to delivered work quality.

Purpose

Unlock immediate improvement while energy systems evolve.

Reduce waste now, learn faster and make the transition to future fuels more effective.

OUR VALUES

How we approach the work.

01

Engineering logic

Start with the problem, follow the evidence and keep narrowing the uncertainty.

02

Transparency

Limitations, awkward data and unanswered questions belong in the discussion.

03

Useful measurement

Fuel matters because of the work it creates. We measure both quantity and quality.

04

Reluctance to accept “impossible”

Established explanations are hypotheses, not exemptions from investigation.

THE JOURNEY

From one generator question to a global engineering platform.

Managed power

Systems thinking and operational logic delivered a 64% reduction in combined TCO and CAPEX.

Re4mx enters the system

Unexpected performance patterns shifted attention from the engine to the behaviour of the fuel.

Laboratory and field testing

Engine, emissions, pressure, torque and operational-data programmes across multiple sectors.

Commercial scale

Real-world use across fleets, vessels, ports, quarries and industrial combustion.

Measurement and optimisation

Re4m-Tech, advanced instrumentation and enterprise-wide fuel performance management.
